SBBCollege is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and to mark this significant milestone they are on a quest to track down their former alumni and invite them to be part of a seminal moment in the College’s history.
One of the oldest colleges in the US, SBBCollege would like former students of all ages to be part of the celebrations. A series of special events have been organized across the College’s campuses throughout September to commemorate the special anniversary.
Matthew Johnston, SBBCollege President, comments: ‘Since the College opened in 1888 we have had thousands of students come through our doors and who have all benefited from our outstanding guidance and support. This anniversary marks a significant chapter in the history of this great institution and we would like to invite our former students to join us in our 125th anniversary celebrations. Our former students have played a prominent role in the history of SBBCollege so we would be delighted to welcome them back.’

The College, which opened its doors in 1888, was originally founded as a co-ed finishing college by education visionary J.E. Metzger. In the early days the College educated teachers and offered courses in banking, merchandizing, shorthand, typing and business law.
Over the years, the College added programs to meet the demands of emerging industries and technology and expanded to five communities in Southern California. Throughout the last century – including the Great Depression, countless earthquakes, and two world wars, SBBCollege was a constant presence along California’s Central Coast.
Today the College has students in five campus locations – Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Bakersfield, Ventura and Rancho Mirage as well as a growing number of online students from across the United States and beyond. Areas of study include business, healthcare, law and IT.
