Application Information

How to Apply for Admission

International students should note that all classes and coursework at SBBCollege will be conducted in English. If English is not your first language, it’s your responsibility to provide proof of English proficiency (see below). In most cases you will also need to obtain a visa (see the information below).

This is a check-list of what else you will need to apply for study at SBBCollege:
  1. Completed and signed application form
  2. Application fee
  3. Financial certification documentation, in English (see section below)
  4. Housing deposit (if SBBCollege housing is requested)
  5. Airport pick-up fee (if requested)
  6. Express mail fee (if requested)

All application fees/deposits must be paid in US dollars. You may pay by checks drawn on a US bank, postal money orders or cashier’s check. These should be made payable to Santa Barbara Business College. Tuition may be paid by any of these methods or by credit card (American Express, VISA or MasterCard).

Ci Applicationinfov2Once we receive your completed application – including deposits and financial documentation – we will process it within two business days and send you an acceptance packet, including your I-20 (required for obtaining your student visa).

This normally takes about two weeks to arrive, although you can request express courier service by checking this option on the application form.

Since our programs offer the flexibility of rolling starts throughout the year, there is no set deadline for applying. However, the earlier you submit your application, the sooner you can start the process of applying for your visa and planning your arrival.

Your application should be addressed to:

SBBCollege
International Office
4839 Market Street
Ventura, California 93003 USA

Financial certification

When you apply, you must also provide proof that you have sufficient funds available to meet your combined living and tuition expenses while attending SBBCollege. If you will be accompanied by family members, their living expenses must also be covered as part of their student-dependent (F-2) visas.

Any one of the following is an acceptable form of certification:

  1. A current personal bank statement or an original letter from your bank, in English.
  2. Both a letter/affidavit of support (from your parents or other source of support) stating you will be responsible for your expenses during your stay here, and a bank statement (or bank letter) verifying your financial ability to meet all expenses.
  3. A letter guaranteeing financial support from your employer.
  4. An original scholarship letter from your government or other organization.

Since you will need to present financial documentation to the US Consular Officer when applying for a student visa, we advise that you make sufficient copies of all financial documentation for both your SBBCollege and visa applications.

Obtaining a Visa

Once you have received your I-20 form from SBBCollege, together with a letter stating your provisionary acceptance, go to your nearest US consulate to apply for an F-1 visa.

As soon as you have been issued with your F-1 visa, you are free to report to SBBCollege in person, at which point you can fill out the remaining paperwork, register for classes, pay your tuition – and receive a warm welcome!

You can read more about what to expect when you arrive – and how to arrange accommodation – on our International Student Information page

In the meantime, or if you have any queries, please do keep in contact with us.
