SBBCollege Presents Criminal Justice Career Info Session to Ventura and Oxnard Communities

Occupations within the criminal justice field are more varied than the title suggests. Are you interested in working in a social or human services setting? Perhaps you want to be a positive force for change in your local community. If you are curious about the many facets of criminal justice, please join us at SBBCollege Ventura on Thursday, June 20th at 6:00 p.m. when we host a Criminal Justice Career Information Session.

This presentation will inform prospective students about the variety of career paths available in this occupational area and discuss how relevant coursework can provide a foundation to pursue job opportunities in this field. Guests will hear from a graduate from the SBBCollege Criminal Justice program who has been accepted into the Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Training Academy for a career in corrections. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with and hear from SBBCollege instructors who have real-world experience in the field, and are invited to work through a mock crime scene at the campus.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth in this area is projected at 18% through the year 2020.

Lorraine Bunt, SBBCollege Ventura Campus Director, comments: “We look forward to this interactive information session and hope that it sparks the participants’ interest in exploring the Criminal Justice curriculum.”
