SBBCollege Vocational Nursing Training Program - Prep for NCLEX!
The vocational nursing profession is experiencing growth due to aging populations and long-term care needs. This trend will lead to increased employment of licensed vocational nurses in hospitals, physicians' offices, and other healthcare settings.
The SBBCollege Vocational Nursing training program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for an entry-level vocational nursing position in a variety of healthcare related settings.
Students in the SBBCollege Vocational Nursing Training Program learn:
- Vital signs assessment
- Medication administration
- Patient care skills in a clinical setting
The hands-on training provides students an understanding of skills for patient care and safety, such as hygiene, feeding, transfer techniques, medication administration, oxygen administration, Foley catheter insertion and care, tracheostomy care, and wound care.
SBBCollege vocational nursing training program students practice the techniques they learn in a supervised laboratory setting and then perfect them at clinical sites with real patients.
After 60 weeks of hands-on training in the vocational nursing training, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical/ Vocational Nurses (NCLEX-PN), which is administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

Nursing Careers
Employment of licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses is expected to grow 22% up to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations. A large number of licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses are expected to retire over the coming decade, and therefore job prospects should be excellent for licensed and experienced LPNs and LVNs.
In addition, many of the procedures that were once done only in hospitals are now being undertaken outside of hospitals, creating demand for those who have undergone vocational nursing training in other settings, such as outpatient care centers.
