California’s Central Coast – often called the American Riviera because of its beautiful beaches, stunning mountain backdrop and near-perfect Mediterranean climate – is a historic region along Southern California’s Pacific coast.

The famous Highway 101 connects the area to Los Angeles and Hollywood to the south-east, home to attractions like Disneyland and Universal Studios, and to San Francisco to the north.

But there are plenty of attractions in the immediate area to keep visitors busy and enthralled. To the north, Santa Barbara promises a real taste of “Old California" with its historic Spanish-style architecture, Mission and museums. The Malibu beach area, home to countless Hollywood stars, is a short car ride away.
