In an attempt to extend our service from the classroom to the rest of the community, SBBCollege Cares will provide community service to the California Veterans Assistance Foundation on Friday, Sept 28th.
The CVAF assists homeless or at-risk veterans to help them maintain or improve their status in society by providing services and resources in a safe and secure environment.
The CVAF will hold a Veterans Stand Down this October in Bakersfield to provide these services to veterans. SBBCollege Cares will help the CVAF sort, fold and pack clothing donated to the Stand Down for veterans in need.
SBBCollege Bakersfield is located at 5300 California Ave, and offers year-round career training to their community in the fields of business, criminal justice, legal studies, healthcare, medical office and nursing. SBBCollege also provides assistance to veterans looking to return to school after their service, including putting their educational benefits to use, such as the Post-9/11 GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program.
