In their quest to extend their helping spirit from the classroom into the community, SBBCollege Cares closed its campuses and offices to join Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County for a build day in Oxnard.
The SBBCollege Ventura and Santa Barbara campuses, as well as the College’s administrative office in Ventura, helped HFHVC in their construction of two houses in Oxnard – meant for two deserving families.
The College Cares group put in over 200 hours of labor into the homes, as they helped spackle and sand the houses’ garages, cut and install dry wall on the first house and prime and paint the walls and ceilings of the second house.
It was a lot of hard work, but well worth the cause as the College helped HFHVC towards their dedication goal date of mid-September.
