Santa Barbara Business College Raises Over $250 for Walk4Water

Students, faculty and staff of Santa Barbara Business College joined the ‘Walk4Water’ charity walk on Santa Barbara’s East Beach last Saturday, May 4th, and raised $268 for families in need around the world.

The charity walk’s goal was to raise awareness for the need for clean and safe water, as every day 25,000 people die globally because of no access to sanitized water. Organized by ‘Hands4Others,’ a movement fighting to change the world one person at a time with drinkable water, the donations of the walk will be used to help families and villages in poverty stricken countries in Middle America, Africa and South East Asia. With nearly 2 million children dying each year of water related causes, water supply and treatment systems are greatly needed.

Students, faculty and staff of SBBCollege Santa Barbara participated in the walk as part of the College’s community service program, SBBCollege Cares, which calls out the Santa Barbara campus into the community to provide service where needed.

The money raised from SBBCollege will provide five families or 27 children with access to a safe water source.

The four mile walk, which went along the beautiful shoreline park towards the harbor and back, was greatly enjoyed by all. SBBCollege Cares will be back next year to increase awareness and raise more donations!
